Martial arts videos

Martial arts videos are often what will inspire a person to begin martial arts training. There are three actors who are responsible for martial arts popularity through the 70’s to present day. Bruce Lee is undoubtedly the most respected and well known martial arts movie star. He made such classics as “Enter the Dragon” and “Fist of Fury”. Bruce Lee died at a very young age, but in his short life, left behind a body of work and legacy that is still revered today.

Jackie Chan created his screen persona as a direct opposite to Lee’s. In Bruce Lee’s films, he plays a stern, moral character where as Chan played slightly slapstick, foolish characters. Chan has stated that he created his fighting style as an opposite of Lee’s. Lee held his arms wide and his style was flowing, where as Chan held his arms tight and his style was tight and choppy. Martial arts videos such as “The Legend of Drunken Master” demonstrated Chan’s lighting fast fighting style that was accused of being sped up by the camera because Chan moved so fast.

Jet Li rose to fame in the 1982 film, “Shaolin Temple” which is credited for the rebirth of the real Shaolin Temple in China after the Cultural Revolution. Li went on to star in the “Once Upon a Time in China” martial arts videos and broke the American market with the period martial arts movie, “Hero”. Li’s help in making the world aware of the Shaolin styles has put Shaolin on the world stage and the touring monks now perform to sell-out crowds across the world.

There are many classic martial arts videos available and there are some hilariously bad ones too. But if you check out any of films made by these three martial artists, you are guaranteed to watch a performance that will amaze and inspire you to train harder and perfect the art.
